Community Water Careers Academy

Start the career before
you finish the degree.

This academy introduces high-wage water careers to college students. First and second year students, specifically.

Eight sessions. Seven run online. One runs in person.

Participants meet industry professionals and learn what the work actually requires.

Water careers pay well and rarely get mentioned on campus. Students pick majors without ever hearing the job described.

The academy fixes the timing. Knowledge, confidence, and direction arrive early enough to matter.

A career is easier to choose once you have met somebody doing it.

What it covers

Eight sessions, one capstone.

Sessions run across infrastructure and operations, watershed and utilities management, engineering, finance, procurement, and human resources.

Teams work a project together and present it at the end. Students finish with something they can point to.

Attend at least seven sessions, including the capstone, and the scholarship is $2,000.
